ENDSLIEGH CHALLENGE CUP ROUND 1
BURNTWOOD TOWN 2 v 2 COLESHILL TOWN
AFTER EXTRA TIME
COLESHILL WON ON PENALTIES

Scorers: Glen Simms, Ray Scandrett (pen).
Penalties: Paul Burns, Mark Hawthorne, Simon Bradbury, Lee O'Brien.

Coleshill travelled to first division Burntwood for the first round of the league cup and only just came away with the win. Burntwood relied on the high ball for their giant centre forward and Coleshill found it hard to contain him. Ray Scandrett started the scoring with a pen after Dave Wilson had been upended. Burntwood hit back in the second half with an equaliser on 65 mins and then took the lead with only 4 mins remaining. Coleshill deservedly took the game into extra time with Glen Simms’s first goal for the club. The teams could not be separated in extra time although Coleshill dominated play. In the penalty shoot out Coleshill were successful with all four efforts from Paul Burns, Mark Hawthorne, Simon Bradbury and Lee O’Brien, while keeper Greg Allen saved two of Burntwood’s kicks.

Team;- Greg Allen, Glen Simms, Lee O’Brien, Matty Devine (Tony Gormley), Simon Bradbury, Ray Scandrett (Darren Pickering), Lee McCarthy, Paul Burns, Dave Wilson, Mitchell Thompson (Mark Hawthorne), Chris Kavanaugh.
