Coleshill Town 1 v 2 Ettingshall HT - Floodlit Cup

Postby Alan Beckett » Mon Nov 11, 2002 11:17 am

TUESDAY 5th NOVEMBER
BIRMINGHAM MID WEEK FLOODLIT CUP
COLESHILL TOWN 1 V 2 ETTINGSHALL H. T.

Scorer: Kris Kavanaugh.

Coleshill couldn’t maintain their excellent recent cup succsseeis as they failed at the first hurdle in the newly formed Birmingham Floodlit Cup.
Word had got out that the management team were leaving and it resulted in a performance that lacked a spark to overcome a well organised Ettingshall team. To everyone’s credit they worked hard but this was no where near the performance at Bloxwich just three days prior.

Ettingshall took the lead on 13 minutes with a sloppy goal from a corner. Chris Kavanaugh levelled just before half time, but both teams were cancelling each other out. The game seemed destined for extra time and even a replay when Ettingshall broke away in the 90th minute. The No 10 did really well to fend off the challenge and finished in style giving keeper Greg Allen no chance.

Team. Greg Allen, Lee O’Brien, Frank Woodburn (Dave Wilson), Glen Simms, Darren Pickering, Matty Devine, Chris Kavanaugh, Mark Hawthorne, Mitchell Thompson, Mally Powers, Christian Crisp. Subs not used Tony Gormley, Steve Fulford.
