Pershore Town 1 v 1 Coleshill Town

Postby Alan Beckett » Thu Feb 13, 2003 2:56 pm

TUESDAY 4th FEBRUARY
MIDLAND COMBINATION PREMIER DIVISION

PERSHORE TOWN 1 v 1 COLESHILL TOWN

Scorer: Stuart Howard.

With the reserves also playing, Manager Tony Gormley struggled to assemble a team for the long trip to Pershore for the second Tuesday evening running. Keeper Brian Cant signed on the night as did forward Carl Morris. Gary Falconbridge stepped up from the second string to take a place on the bench.

Coleshill started well and the first 45 minutes definitely belonged to the visitors but their only reward was a Stuart Howard goal, his third in two games. Howard demonstrated he is just as good a striker of the ball in open play as he is at set pieces when his crisp drive flew into the net. The wide midfielder has hit good form but is due to miss games because of a poor disciplinary record.

Pershore regrouped, changed formation and forced Coleshill back for the whole of the second half and were rewarded with a converted penalty for handball off Frank Woodburn. A point apiece a fair reflection of the whole game.

Team. Brian Cant, Frank Woodburn, Steve Lees, Alan Thomas, Carl Smith, Christian Crisp, Peter Hall (Matty Devine), Stuart Howard, Dale Catley (Gary Falconbridge), Carl Morris, Mitchell Thompson. Subs not used- Simon Bradbury.
