Midland Combination Premier Division
Saturday 2nd October 2004
Coleshill Town 1 v 3 Meir K.A.
Scorer: Craig Davies.

Coleshill welcomed back Kevin Wagstaff after injury and Craig Davies who was unavailable in midweek due to work. Matthew Ward was not selected due to working and young James Lloyd was serving a suspension. Coleshill started brightly against an enthusiastic Meir side. Both sides had chances early on but it was a mistake by keeper Jones that handed the visitors a gift goal when he dropped a harmless looking cross for Meir to convert from six yards out. This stung the Greens into action and they were rewarded for their efforts when Davies received a pass from Carter to leave the keeper helpless fom just outside the penalty area. The assistant referee flagged for offside but he was over ruled by the referee who adjudged that the ball had last been played by a defender. Some ten minutes later Carter had the ball in the net but this time the match officials agreed that there was an offside decision to be made.
Just before half time the visitors increased their lead with a cross shot that eluded Jones' despairing dive. The second half passed with little to show for Coleshill and their afternoon was ruined when Meir scored athird.
This is now 11 goals conceded in the last three games, let us hope that matters are put right on Wednesday with the visit to Pilkington XXX.

Team:Jones(C), Gee, Wilkes, Jones(K), Lees, Wagstaff, Howard, McPherson, Davies, Carter, Woodbourne(Thompson 70) Subs not used: Faulconbridge, Dempster.
