Coventry Marconi 0 v 1 Coleshill Town

Coleshill Town made progress at the expense of second placed Marconi with a battling single goal win. The first half was evenly matched with neither side creating any worthwhile clear goal scoring opportunities.
The second half started with Kevin Wagstaff hitting the post from close range after only 45 seconds. Following that Craig Jones denied the home team on several occassions as Coleshill fought a resolute battle against a determined Coventry side.
The only goal of the game came after 69 minutes when Tim Lane opened his Coleshill account with a fierce left footed shot from just inside the penalty leaving the keeper clutching thin air.
Marconi were unable to make any impression as Coleshill marched towards the quarter finals having yet to concede a goal in the competition.
