MATCH REPORT
A very entertaining game on a horrible night! The game started at pace with both sides passing and moving impressively. Coleshill play one level higher than Racing but a very young side gave as good as they got and didn’t look out of their depth, but a couple of tasty tackles brought an edge to the game that threatened to boil over with the referee struggling to keep control. Neither keeper was overworked but Coleshill came close with an effort from Isia Marsilla which went over the bar. Josh Willis had a shot parried by home keeper Crane but there was no one on hand to finish. The best chance of the half came from the home team after a sweet move but a crunching, goal saving tackle by captain Niall Rowe cleared the danger. Town replied with a free kick by Liam Molesworth that George Washbourne flicked on but his effort hit the bar. With half time approaching Coleshill took the lead when Josh Willis headed home a second free kick from Liam Molesworth at the back post.

The Colemen upped the pace in the second half and had several chances to increase their lead. Alex Tomkinson had a shot saved by the keepers feet and Ewan Williams shot just passed the far post. Keeper Crane saved again with his feet as Isia Marsilla looked certain to score, but Crane’s best save of the night was a full length dive to push George Washbourne’s effort round the post. Racing were comfortable in possession but rarely troubled Town keeper Paul Hathaway, Jones coming the closest with an effort from distance. Coleshill finally put the game to bed on 83 minutes in a move involving Alex Tomkinson, George Washbourne and finished off by Isia Marsilla. A deserved win particularly due to an impressive second half. Newcomers Ewan Williams making his first start and Mason Birch making his debut both looked to be good additions to the squad.
Coleshill now look to make it Five wins in a row as they travel to bottom of the table Yaxley on Saturday.
