MATCH REPORT

With Coleshill on a run of four wins, playing bottom of the league Yaxley, you would expect an easy run out for the Colemen but, that just never happened! A goalless first half saw the home team give as good as they got and deserved to go to the break on even terms.

With Liam Molesworth unavailable, Amarvir Sandhu took on the role of front runner and he nearly scored in the first minute but his shot was saved by stand in keeper Garner. Sandhu had the ball in the net after a shot by Kai Tonge was spilt by Garner but was given off side. Yaxley had a chance when Hamilton chased a lost cause but put the visitors defence under pressure before finally clearing the danger. It was end to end but chances were at a premium. Shots by Amarvir Sandhu and George Washbourne, on his 100th appearance, and a header by Taylor Byrne were the total of Coleshill's contribution and in return Wren and Squillace had efforts for the home side but neither keeper was seriously tested.

Coleshill upped the pace in the second half, an early corner by Alex Tomkinson came off a defender and hit the bar before Coleshill took the lead on 56 minutes. There looked to be little danger but Amarvir Sandhu was quickly onto a back pass, rounded the keeper and tapped into an empty net. This was the break the Colemen needed and they quickly took advantage to put the game to bed. Just three minutes later Kai Tonge was fouled inside the box and picked himself up to score from the penalty spot. It was all Coleshill now with Garner making a good save from George Washbourne then on 63 minutes a fine shot by Alex Tomkinson was parried by Garner but Sandhu was on hand to finish the job. Yaxley had their best effort of the game when Hamilton's run and shot wasn't too far away but Coleshill made it Four with 15 minutes to go. Kai Tonge received the ball inside the 18 yard box and jincked this way and that before finding space and picking his spot into the corner of the net.

The Colemen made hard work of it but once the first goal went in it was one way traffic to a comfortable win. Up next is a mid week visit to Hinckley before entertaining top of the league Halesowen on Saturday.
