Coleshill Town visited Bridgnorth on Saturday and found themselves up against formidable opposition, falling to a 4-2 Midland Combination First Division defeat. Dave Conway gave Coleshill the lead on the half hour, but near the interval Bridgnorth forced two corners and on both occasions the ball was not cleared effectively and the visitors conceded two goals. These sudden set backs, coming so close to half time, unsettled Coleshill and early in the second period, from yet another corner, Bridgnorth made it 3-1. Nigel Montague and Harry Burrows defended well for Coleshill and restricted the dangers of the home strikers Franklin (think this is Francis) and Hemsley, but they missed the services of Tom Hardie in midfield. John Allen, who worked like a trojan throughout for Coleshill scored a great goal after fine work by substitute Martin Voicey, but Bridgnorth finished strongly to notch their fourth near the end. New Goalkeeper Colin Wright performed well for Coleshill. Signed by manager David Kite from Coventry Colliery he could settle down to be a big asset to the Pack Meadow club.
This Saturday Coleshill are away to Stratford in the Mid Com Challenge Cup, and they should welcome back Stan Komoroski, who has been suspended for the past three weeks. Hardie is also expected to be fit and David Kite is selecting from the following 17 players: Goulden GK, Wright GK, McGreevy, Sarson, Monatgue N, Burrows, Hartry, Allen, Hardie, Komoroski, Colvin, Casy, Upton, Dawkins, Montague P, Conway and Voicey.
