CANNING HAT-TRICK
Recording their biggest win of the season, Coleshill outplayed lowly placed Studley, inspired by a fine display from young Barrie Canning. Coleshill began with a packed defence, but could easily have found themselves a goal down when McGrath split their rearguard with a cross and keeper Steve Raybould did well to clear the danger. Ketterick shot wide from 10 yards as Coleshill hit back and on the half hour Barrie Canning expertly chested the ball down and slammed in a great goal. Ten minutes later it was Canning again who forced Studley's keeper to parry the ball out to Paul Montague for him to make it 2-0. More pressure by Coleshill led to Montague and Andrew Canning both going close to scoring, although just before the interval Studley's Taylor got in two shots which were both turned over the crossbar by the agile Raybould. Four minutes into the second half Barry Canning headed Coleshill further in front from a corner taken by Dawkins and in the 55th minute Canning had a goal disallowed for offside. In the 60th minute substitute Nardiello took the place of Andrew Canning and immediately teamed up with Barry Canning to torment Studley's harassed defence. Canning completed his hat-trick and then Nardiello latched on to a quick throw in from Micky Burrows to bang in goal number five.
