NON LEAGUE PAPER WROTE
A goal in each half saw Hanley win through at Potteries Park. Callum Middleton opened the scoring on the half hour, tucking away following a scramble in the box. Coleshill ramped up the pressure, but didn't really trouble Hanley until the final thoes. Eleven minutes from time, on-loan goalkeeper Lucas Knight did brilliantly, plunging to his near post to make a fine one-handed block. The youngster, signed from Stoke City, earned an impressive clean sheet on his first start for the club, as he was again called into action, tipping over the bar as Coleshill applied the pressure. Jake Twyford did make the game safe in stoppage time, finally putting the game out of reach of Harry Harris' men, who find themselves out of both cups and languishing in the bottom four.

Hanley Town made it through to the next round of the FA Trophy with an hard earned 2-0 win at the NBe Brokers Stadium on Saturday.

Hanley Town dominated the first half, early in the half a superb cross from Lucas Sant, whipped across the six yard box only needed for someone to tap into the net. Hanley continued to pile on the pressure, Twyford, Middleton and Muirhead all had shots blocked, A goal mouth scramble inside the visitor's six yard box but no Hanley Town player could get a decisive touch on the ball before a Coleshill Town defender hooked clear.

Twyford fired wide of the post from 25 yards and a Jack Van Der Laan pass almost sent Callum Middleton racing clear in on goal only for an outstretched leg from the Coleshill centre back preventing an goal scoring opportunity. Hanley Town got the breakthrough they deserved on the half hour mark a ball was flicked on at the near post before reaching the back post for Callum Middleton to force the ball over the line.

A few stern words must have been said at the break by the Coleshill Town management team as the visitors came storming out the blocks for the second half. Brilliant defensive clearances by Hanley's back four of Kieran Lazenby, Joe Minshall, Tommy Van Der Laan and Lucas Sant denied the visitor's goal scoring opportunities.

Hanley's Jake Twyford and Callum Middleton both had efforts to double Hanley's lead but both shots were superbly blocked by Coleshill defenders. Coleshill Town continued to press for an equaliser but Hanley's defence held firm. Hanley's Devante Ramsey raced clear before firing just over the crossbar.

With Hanley Town goalkeeper Mikey Shortehouse out injured Hanley Town brought in Lucas Knight on loan from Stoke City, and Lucas pulled off two brilliant saves to deny Coleshill, the first getting down to his left to save an half volley effort from eight yards, and two minutes later tipping over an header as the visitor's pressed late on for an equaliser.

Jake Twyford after being set up by Ramsey had a chance to make it 2-0 but for a brilliant save from the Coleshill Town keeper. Hanley made the game safe in injury time, Jake Twyford run along the byline ended with Middleton who was denied twice for his second goal by superb defensive blocks, but the second effort fell kindly for Twyford to stroke home to send Hanley Town through to the next round.
