Season Review
After finishing in 9th place last season, Manager Mick Beadle was aiming for a top six finish as progression in his three year plan to get the club promoted to the Alliance. The club added a Reserve team, managed by Brian Quigley, and a third team, managed by Brian Bennett and would play in the AFA, to complement the Youth team managed by Ray Clamp. In reality, it was a frustrating season as a stronger squad only performed to their potential occasionally. Offensively their total of 79 goals was only one less than last season, which was the best total in nearly 30 years but defensively the only time they have conceded more than the 93 goals, was when they got relegated in 2000. Highlights included two fine wins in the FA Vase, reaching the Quarter Final of the Birmingham Floodlit Cup, and a double over Massey Ferguson, 5-0 and 5-2. The Youth team won the Birmingham County Youth Cup, a magnificent achievement!
