MIDLAND COMBINATION PREMEIR DIVISION
SATURDAY 10th DECEMBER 2005
BROCTON 0 v 3 COLESHILL TOWN
Scorers: David Brush 3.

Goalscoring isn't a problem, only the top four sides have scored more than Town, but stopping the opposition scoring for a full 90 minutes is a rare occurrence. Manager Mick Beadle had worked with his defence in training over the last couple of weeks and with the return of Des Wilkes, finally the back line held firm and recorded only the fourth clean sheet of the season. Beadle was without several senior players but the twelve men that played worked their socks off to secure three welcome league points.

Brocton are a bit up and down just like Coleshill but they have a nice set up, are nice people and make you work hard for any reward. Town's midfield dominated the opening 45 minutes and the visitors deservedly led by two goals by the break. On 25 minutes David Brush scored the first of his three from a free kick just outside the box which curled under the bar and into the net. Ten minutes later and it was two but this time with the aid of some sloppy goalkeeping. Brocton took a throw in back to the keeper to clear but his kick spooned across his box and was helped into an empty net by the ever alert Brush. Miles Millington-Day made a couple of good saves but on the whole had a quiet afternoon. Brocton stepped up the pace in the second half and pushed Coleshill back but the impressive defence restricted the home side to long range efforts. Coleshill's forwards closed down the Brocton keeper at every opportunity as he looked short of confidence and on 80 minutes they were rewarded with another gift goal. From a routine back pass the stopper completely missed his kick leaving David Brush to run the ball into the net for his hat trick, the first for Coleshill in 18 months when Mitch Thompson hit three against Barnt Green in August 2004.

Team;- Miles Millington-Day, Sean Burrell, Des Wilkes, Ryan Gardner, Dan Greaves, Carl Smith (Brendon Shilton), Sam Chatwin, Rob Ellis, David Brush, Lee Dempster, Kevin Wagstaff.
