On a very very cold night on the top of the highest hill in Dudley with the wind howling across the pitch we watched an excellent semi final match against Dudley Sports FC. A well contested game with Dudley Town kicking with the wind for the first half of the match. Coleshill's back four contained Dudley's forwards very well only conceding one goal in the first half. All the action then started from the beginning of the second half where Dudley scored early in the first half to take a 2-0 advantage and although the spectators thought that it was game over Coleshill players never gave up and as a result a well taken goal by TJ put Coleshill back in the match. 10 mins before full time Stuart Lee scored the equaliser and we were heading for extra time. Coleshill had the more changes to seal the game but Dudley held on for a 2-2 draw at full time.
This then put us in extra time where Coleshill went in front with a second goal from TJ. The conditions were continuing to deteriorate with it being very cold and windy and Dudley equalised at the end of the first half. At 3-3 both teams seeked the winning goal and a penalty shoot out seemed to be inevitible with only 5 minutes to go. A late substitute, Peter Crowe, came onto the field full of enthusiasm, determined to score the winning goal came up with the goods with a minute and a half to go to give Coleshill a well deserved victory which put us in the final of the cup which all players and managers should be very proud of and thoroughly deserved. WELL DONE TO EVERYONE and we are all looking forward to the final.
