WEDNESDAY 15th NOVEMBER 2006
BIRMINGHAM MIDWEEK FLOODLIT CUP - 2nd Round.
BOLDMERE ST MICHEALS RESERVES 0 v 4 COLESHILL TOWN
Scorers: David Brush, Raddi Richards, Danny Carter, James Dance.

The run continues, 775 minutes without conceding a goal and nine straight wins in all competitions. A win for Boldmere Reserves against an in form Coleshill first team would have been a tremendous scalp and the young home team were up for the challenge from the first whistle but Town matched their effort and made their quality count where it mattered, in front of goal.
Coleshill dominated the early exchanges but ironically took the lead during Bolmere's best period. The home team forced a corner but Town broke quickly from the clearance and Danny Carter skipped into the box, crossed to the far post where Raddi Richards stretched to get a shot on target. The Mikes keeper blocked the ball on the line but David Brush was following up and slammed the ball into the net. Coleshill should have increased the lead but as the half progressed, and chances not converted, Bolmere , with the wind and rain at their backs, came more into the game. From two corners Coleshill showed why they are so hard to break down with some brave and desperate defending. Chris Butler saved from point blank range and another goal bound effort was cleared off the line, but the rear guard held firm.
Within three minutes of the restart Coleshill doubled their lead to virtually guarantee passage to the next round. James Dance collected from the edge of his own box and sent a pass into the space behind the defence. Danny Carter's run was timed perfectly and as the defence backed off he jinked inside and shot at goal. His effort hit the bar and came back into play but Raddi Richards threw himself at the ball to head into the net. On the hour mark Town forced a corner and a half clearance was headed back goalward by Scott Wilson and Carter was on hand to force the ball over the line for number three. Boldmere never gave up and record goalless run nearly came to an end as a midfield runner got on the end of a cross and should have scored but shot wide, then Chris Butler parried a shot away for a corner, Mark Ward got back with a goal saving tackle and then Josh Gunter blocked a goal bound shot. Coleshill did have the last say when David Brush rolled a free kick into the path of James Dance who shot low and hard into the net on 86 mins.
Coleshill travel to Coventry Copsewood on Saturday for another cup match before getting back to league business when table topping Walsall Wood come to Pack Meadow on Tuesday.

Team:- Chris Butler, Josh Gunter, Mark Ward, Ryan Gardiner, Rob Ellis (Dan Greaves [Chris Davies] ), Simon Volante, Carl Smith (Scott Wilson), David Brush, Raddi Richards, Danny Carter, James Dance.
