TUESDAY 17th APRIL 2007
MIDLAND COMBINATION PREMIER DIVISION
ALVESTON 0 v 11 COLESHILL TOWN
Scorers: Michael Campbell 4, Danny Carter 4, James Dance, David Brush, Dominic Reece.

OK! So Alveston are bottom of the league! Their manager left mid week! They played mostly a youth team! But you can only play what’s in front of you and Coleshill put in a disciplined, aggressive professional performance to completely blow away the opposition. Michael Campbell hadn’t scored in thirteen games but took just 3mins to break his barren spell. Dominic Reece couldn’t buy a goal but burst the net with No10. Danny Carter (4) and David Brush (pen) are now on level terms for leading goalscorer with 16 each. 11-0 is a Coleshill record win and may even be a Mid Com record.

The match report is going to be took up describing the goals but there were many, many more chances to add to the scoring with the woodwork and some good saves by a very young keeper denying Town.

Danny Carter shot wide in the first attack but he was back to cross for Campbell to nod home from 2 yards out. Alveston had their one and only chance of the game soon after but with their forward away from our defence he sliced his shot well wide. On ten minutes a long throw from Dominic Reece should have been claimed by the keeper but Campbell nipped in to head over the stopper and into an empty net. A minute later Reece released Campbell who crossed for Danny Carter to slot home No3. The action never stopped but it was on 23 mins before Town scored again. A defender got to a through ball ahead of Carter but his attempt to head home fell short and Carter nipped in, rounded the keeper and rolled into the net. Several corners and even more saves later Carter completed his hat trick with a solo goal that only the little genius could score, then Carter turned provider as he laid the ball on for James Dance to lash home. Carter then hit the post just as the half time whistle went.

Coleshill didn’t ease off in the second half as they realised that the goal difference advantage Castle Vale enjoyed could be wiped out in one game. David Brush flicked the ball into the box and a smart turn and shot by Campbell was too much and it was now seven. Dominic Reece crossed for Carter to left foot volley home for his fourth and Coleshill’s eighth. Not to be out done Campbell got his fourth when he again turned and shot powerfully from a Simon Volante pass. Carter was replaced by Oluwaseyi Morgan and with his first touch he hit the foot of the post following a sweeping move involving James Dance, Rob Hipkiss and Simon Volante. Double figures were achieved via a first goal for Coleshill for Dominic Reece. A free kick just outside the box was rolled into Reece’s path by Dance and the midfielder smacked the ball home with his preferred left foot. On 88 minutes Campbell, who had been a hand full all night, was took out in the box and David Brush stepped up to calmly slot home. The players were desperate for the round dozen as a sizeable bonus to the end of season pot was promised but Seyi was denied with a fine save from a rasping shot.

The team has come into form at just the right time and with five games remaining manager Mick Beadle is expecting five wins and a second place finish.

Team:- Greg Allen, Sam Chatwin, Rob Hipkiss (James Butterworth), Ian Bluck, James Dance, Simon Volante, Raddi Richards, Dominic Reece, David Brush, Michael Campbell , Danny Carter (Oluwaseyi Morgan). Subs not Used Carl Smith.
