Match Report
Monday 2nd Oct 2006
Midland Floodlit Youth League Premier Division
Tamworth 2 v 0 Coleshill Town

This top of the league clash was an indication as to whether Coleshill were genuine title contenders and although they came away from the Lamb with no points they could take credit for their performance.

There was nothing between the teams for most of the match in an entertaining game for the crowd. 0-0 at half time, Tamworth had hit the post but Coleshill had their chances too. Sean Butler replaced the injured Ryan Byfield in the Coleshill goal and the new keeper called and came for a cross but a Tamworth forward got there first to head home for the opening goal. Butler could hold his head up high as he made ammends with a couple of fine saves. Debut boy Luke Scarborough could have made a dream start for his new club as his shot against his old club was heading for the top corner but the home team keeper stretched and palmed the effort away for a corner. Coleshill were at their best at this point and had several chances to equalise but as they pushed forward Tamworth caught them on the break to score their second with less than five minutes remaining.

Team:- Ryan Byfield (Sean Butler), Lee Beddows (Simon Dunelow), Rob Evans, Chris Green, Steve Parsons (Marcus McLaren), Dave Nash, Danny Tymon, Isaac Robinson, Luke Scarborough, Justin Grandison, Reiss Byfield. Subs not used Lee Nash, Michael Main.
