YOUTHS ON FA CUP TRAIL

Coleshill Town Youth team have their sights set on a big tie in the FA Cup. The young Colemen overcame Gornal Athletic on Thursday 20th September, with a handsome 9-0 scoreline. Gornal had defeated Eccleshall 4-1 in the Preliminary Round with Coleshill getting a bye straight into the First Round Qualifying.

The scorers were: Chris Cowley, Alex Tomkinson, Harry Clare, Billy Hewitt, Liam Stevens 2, Saul Hodgits, Aaron Johnson, and the last goal scored by Johnson again.

Coleshill now entertain Stourbridge in the 2nd Round Qualifying on Wednesday 3rd October. There is also a 3rd Qualifying round before the big boys start to enter the competition at the First Round Proper stage. So only two more wins could see the visit of Aston Villa, Birmingham City or West Bromwich Albion to little old Pack Meadow. Fingers crossed!!!

Coleshill Youth's have only ever reached the 1st Round Proper once before. During the 2005/2006 season they beat Congleton Town, Nuneaton Borough and Chasetown but were unfortunate not to be drawn against a League Team and instead played Arnold Town from Nottingham at Packmeadow, losing 2-0.
