I have some details of Coleshill playing Studley Sporting in the Midland Combination from 1979/80 through to 1986/87 but it seems that this has nothing to do with the current Studley team, so they can go back in the attic.

This Studley started life back in 1971 as a Sunday side made up of mostly BKL Fittings employees, Brodie Kilme and Luft, for the ill informed. They then joined the Mid Com Div 2 in 1986. It wasn't until the 1992/93 season that they joined Coleshill in the Premier division and the two teams met at that level for eight seasons, until Coleshill were relegated to Division 1 for the 2000/01 season. During that year Studley finished runners up in the Prem to Nuneaton Griff, and with Griff unable to take the promotion place, Studley joined the Midland Alliance. Studley have stayed in the Alliance ever since but dropped the BKL bit from their name when the company went into liquidation, the football club buying out the ground in 2002.

It is so tight at the bottom of the league that it seems every week is a six pointer but this definitely is! Studley are currently second from bottom with 13 points, three wins from their 16 games. Coleshill are just a point above them but share 14 points with 5 other teams. Town have 4 wins from their 18 games and have only won once at home this season. All time record shows that Studley hold the upper hand but since the two teams have been in the Alliance it is more even with Coleshill winning 3, losing 4 and drawing one of the eight games since 2008.

Coleshill Herald Wrote
Town have started life in the Midland Alliance well. They were only denied three points at Westfields on Saturday following a last minute equaliser. Danny Carter and Simon Volante had given them a 2-1 lead. They followed that up with a 4-1 home win against Studley thanks to a brace from Matty Robinson and late goals from Stuart Adamson and Neil Kitching. Manager Carl Adams said "We were brilliant in the first half on Tuesday night and if we can build on that performance we might surprise a few people in the league".
