Saturday 26th January 1963
Birmingham Youth & Old Boys League, Mercian Division
A period of seriously bad weather set in. Firstly snow, then frost and finally waterlogged pitches meant a period of 12 weeks past, from the 22nd December, before Coleshill played again. The papers said that this was the coldest winter for over 200 years.

Still Another Disappointment
The Committee of Coleshill Football Club had thought the long period of enforced idleness of the team was at an end and that matches would be practically assured until the end of the season. Amington Rovers were due to play at Coleshill in the 2nd Round of the Chapel End Cup but just before the time arranged for kick off a telegram was received to say that they had missed the train at Tamworth. Coleshill were stripped and ready for the match and the disappointment to Committee and players was very keen. The worst of luck has been experienced this season but it is safe to say that the experiment of playing in the Trent Valley League is primarily the cause of all the trouble.
