Casey: 'Coleshill will play positively'
Writes the Coleshill Herald
COLESHILL Town boss Paul Casey says he will look to play positive football to ensure his side pull clear of the Midland Alliance relegation zone.
Coleshill suffered a 5-1 defeat at the hands of promotion-chasing Stourport Swifts on Saturday but have enjoyed a good run of late.
Prior to the defeat, seven points from a possible nine, plus three clean sheets, against Loughborough, Gornal and Heather saw them pull clear of the relegation zone.
They are now fifth from bottom, with the bottom three to go down, and Casey is hoping that solid form will continue.
He said: "We have set ourselves a target of five wins from the last 13 games and hopefully that is achievable.
"It's a tight league and anyone from 13th downwards can still go down.
"We have some tough games against all the sides around us at the bottom.
"They are going to be real battles but they are games that we are capable of getting results from.
"We are going to set ourselves up to be positive in matches.
"We won't be getting men behind the ball and just sitting back, that's for sure.
"We want to win matches and playing negatively will only see us relegated."
Casey, whose side travel to Studley this weekend, has also hailed recent signing Chris Gummery.
He said: "We brought him in from Stratford and he's been great for us.
"He leads the line very well and I'm delighted to have him on board.
"We are not looking to add anyone else now.
"The team bonding has been going really well and that should stand us in good stead for the rest of the season."
