Sunday Mercury Wrote:
Coleshill Town completed a double over Walsall Wood and as such the home side ended their home fixtures on a disappointing note. In the 25th minute both sides had a goal-line clearance within a minute when Robert Peyton put a Gary Edmunds header off the Walsall line while 30 seconds later Steve Whipps did a similar saving act to deny the home side. In the 32nd minute the visitors took the lead by an own goal when pressure by Eddie Sandiford forced Andy Jones to lob the ball into his own net. Although the home side pressed for an equaliser it was Coleshill who added to the score line in the 60th minute. Gary Williams brought down John Taylor and Pete Christopher slotted home the penalty.
