Blackwood 2 v 5 Coleshill Town

Coleshill continued their pre-season preparations on the hottest day of the year against Blackwood from the Midland Combination Premier league. Town should have been one down in the first few minutes as a free kick hit both posts before being scrambled clear but Coleshill took control with two quick goals from Jon Powis and then Neil Kitching. The Colemen dominated the remainder of the half and increased their lead with Kitching's second of the game. The referee sensibly stopped the game as much as possible for the players to get much needed refreshments and then just after half time manager Paul Casey started to make numerous changes, only three players playing the whole 90 minutes. Chris Lloyd made it four before Blackwood pulled one back, the first goal Coleshill have conceded so far in pre-season. Leon Weller made it five and fair play to Blackwood, they never gave up and maybe finished the stronger and got a deserved second goal just before the final whistle.
