Pre-Season Bolehall Swifts 1 v 2 Coleshill Town

Scorers: Chris Lloyd, Leon Weller.

Team: Paul Hathaway, Danny Douglas (Danny Charlton), Dan Dineen, Luke Edwards, Jack Hullin, Leon Weller (Jake Allen), Barry Fitzharris (Nick Ellis), Danny Tymon (Ryan Duxberry), Jon Powis (Neil Kitchen), Jordan Archer (Chris Lloyd), Chris Lloyd (Chris Gumery).

Another win, another good run out in hot and humid conditions but this, as expected, was the toughest game so far during pre-season. Bolehall are one of the better sides in the Midland Combination and wouldn't look out of place in the Alliance. On top of that there is always an edge between the two sides who have been doing battle for many, many years, and several Swift players have previously played for Coleshill. This all added up to a tough night for Town, something manager Paul Casey will be pleased with as the season draws closer. Chances were few and far between as the two sides stood toe to toe in midfield. Neither keeper had much to do but former Town stopper Will Stannage could only watch as the best move of the match ended with a cracking shot from Chris Lloyd that hit the back of the net. 1-0 at half time and just about deserved. Swifts had the better of the second half but keeper Paul Hathaway had little if anything to do until his defence messed about when "clear the lines" was the best option and bang the ball was in the net and 1-1. Again there was little between the sides and a draw was the most likely outcome but Leon Weller found himself in the box from the right back position and his wickedly hit shot went in off the bar.

A very productive pre-season so far with four wins but all to teams from the league below. Stratford and Romulus will be far stiffer tests but the signs are good and Casey will be pleased as his plans slowly come together.
