Coleshill Town 0 v 2 Romulus
Team: Paul Hathaway, Danny Douglas (Connor Leek), Dan Dineen (Dominic Reece), Jon Powis (Danny Tymon), Luke Edwards, Jack Hullis, Nick Ellis, Barry Fitzharris (Aaron Evans), Chris Gumery (Jordan Archer), Leon Weller, Chris Lloyd (Chris Cowley).
Coleshill lost their final warm up game before the season starts in earnest next Saturday away to Gornal Athletic. Five wins out of six is a very good return and has given manager Paul Casey a good indication of his squads strengths and weaknesses.
Coleshill weren't at their best but competed well against an impressive side. Romulus were not what I expected. Big, strong, experienced and direct is what you would expect from a side established in the league above, but they were young, fit and played some slick football keeping the ball for long periods. A goal in each half was enough to take the honours but it could have been more as they hit the post twice and Hathaway was by far the busier keeper. In return Chris Gumery had a couple of close headers and Chris Lloyd made the visiting keeper earn his corn with a smart save.
Bring on the season, I'm sure it will be more fun than the last one!
