WE MEET AGAIN – Boldmere St Michaels


Boldmere are second on the list of teams we have played the most! Highgate United come first with 80 meetings with Boldmere being 56, the earliest being 1919/20. The two teams have met for League games in the Midland Alliance, the Midland Combination, and the Sutton & District League, but they have also met in many cup competitions including the Midland Combination Challenge Cup, the FA Cup, the Birmingham Senior Cup and the Walsall Senior Cup but never in the Midland Alliance League Cup! Interestingly, we have never beaten the Mikes in a cup game! Both sides have a long and rich history going back over 100 years indeed Boldmere have had a book printed to celebrate 125 years of history, “A History Of Boldmere St Michaels FC by Michael Talbot”, check it out!

Team: Hart, Teeling, Randell, Wyatt, Harden, Wilson, Whipps, Bodfish, Bailey, Casey, Rosborough. Subs Everton, Burroughs.
This was only the second game of the season. Coleshill had lost their opening game Away to Armitage “90”, who went on to be Champions. With it being a mid-week game reports are scarce but Paul Casey scored twice to earn Town a draw. Casey transferred to Boldmere later in the season and in his first game he scored against Coleshill in a 1-1 draw.
