Holder Shield – Second Round
Coleshill Town 2 v 3 Austin Motors

Coleshill Chronicle Wrote: Saturday last saw two games at Coleshill. The first team were engaged in nthe second round of the Holder Shield with Austin Motors. The reserves entertained Ladywood St John in a league match on the Wheatsheaf Ground. In the first match both teams were fairly represented. The Town won the toss but there was little advantage to be gained. In the first half a fine game was witnessed, the midfield play of both teams being great. The Motor opened the scoring but the Town soon equalised. Half Time Coleshill Town 1 Austin Motor 1. The second half was full of excitement, both goals having miraculous escapes. The Motor once more obtained the lead but it was short lived and once more the scores were equal and stood two goals each. After 87 minutes play the home forwards swept down the field in a line, Dyke putting in a shot that struck the up right and went out. From the goal kick Austin ran down and scored the winning goal in the last minute of the match. It was a brilliant match from start to finish and the Town were unlucky to lose by a fluky goal. A draw would have represented the game.
