WE MEET AGAIN - LYE TOWN

WE MEET AGAIN – LYE TOWN

Coleshill Town and Lye Town first met in the Midland Football League Premier in 2014 as far as I’m aware, so if you know of any games before that date please let me know!

They come together again, after a Five year gap, in the Northern Premier League Midland Division following Lye's promotion last season from the MFL after finishing Runners Up to Champions Walsall Wood and then winning a One Off Play Off game against St Neots Town to advance to Step 4 for the first time in their history.

Lye Town were in the Worcestershire Combination prior to WW2 but were long gone by the time Coleshill joined that league, by then the Midland Combination, in 1967. Lye have always been on the other side of the M6 divide and spent 49 years in the West Midlands Regional League, outstripping Coleshill’s 41 years in the Mid Com.

Lye were promoted to the newly formed Midland Football League Premier Division in 2014 from the West Midlands Premier as Champions with 101 points only one point above Pagasus Juniors who also broke the 100 point barrier!

Coleshill's record against The Flyers isn't the best but the experience of Five Years at this level on the Non League Pyramid should give them the edge!

Welcome Lye Town to Pack Meadow, Home of Coleshill Town Football Club.
