WE MEET AGAIN - RUGBY TOWN

Rugby have changed their name a few of times over the years from Valley Sports, Valley Sports Rugby, VS Rugby, Rugby United and finally Rugby Town. Coleshill Town played a Rugby Town in 2002/03 and 2003/04 but I'm not quite sure that it was the same Rugby Town that we are playing today.

VS Rugby (Town) have generally been in a higher level than Coleshill, Southern League for many years and a spell in the Northern League. They have won the FA Vase and the Birmingham Senior Cup. The 2017/18 season saw Rugby back in the MFL after relegation but as that was the year that Coleshill got promotion the sides met for just one season. In 2018 former Coleshill Manager Carl Adams took charge at Rugby and he is still there making him one of their longest serving managers. Rugby gained promotion last season via the Play Off System from the United Counties League to join Coleshill in the Northern Premier League Midland Division.
