WE MEET AGAIN – BOLDMERE ST MICHAELS

Boldmere are second on the list of teams we have played the most! Highgate United come first with 80 meetings with Boldmere being 71, the earliest being 1919/20. The two teams have met for League games in the Midland Football League Premier, the Midland Alliance, the Midland Combination, the Sutton & District League, and now in the Northern Premier League Midland Division but they have also met in many cup competitions including the Midland Combination Challenge Cup, the FA Cup, the Birmingham Senior Cup, the Walsall Senior Cup and, the Midland Alliance League Cup! Both sides have a long and rich history going back over 100 years indeed Boldmere have had a book printed to celebrate 125 years of history, “A History Of Boldmere St Michaels FC by Michael Talbot”, check it out!

Last season was Boldmere's first at Level 4 and they gave it a great go. With just two games to go they were still in a play off place but Coleshill's 2-0 win meant it was the Colemen who progressed to the Play Off's and the Mikes just missing out.

Both sides are going through a tougher time this season. Boldmere currently lie in 15th place with 17 points from their 15 games, with Coleshill just two places above then in the league table with 20 points from their 16 games, not much between them!

My records are very vague in the late 70’s and early 80’s but this is what I’ve got.
