Saturday 8th April 1989
Coleshill Town 3 v 0 Polesworth North Warwick
Scorer: Rory Cash 3.
Sunday Mercury Wrote:
A superb hat-trick from Rory Cash gave Coleshill their second consecutive victory in their vital relegation battle against Polesworth. Coleshill took the lead in the 41st minute through Cash and they added a second just before the break when Polesworth keeper misjudged a back pass for Cash to score again. Coleshill pressed hard in the second period and deservedly increased their lead in the 65th minute when a neat interchange between Cash and Brown beat the Polesworth offside trap leaving Cash to complete his hat-trick.

COLESHILL AND SHUSTOKE SAY GOODBYE TO HOSPITAL CUP
Hopes of at least one “local” side making the Semi-Final of the Queens Hospital Cup were dashed completely when Coleshill Town and Shustoke Sports were both removed from the competition. Coleshill town, forced to make last-minute changes when Bevan and Checkly failed to appear, met their “Waterloo” at Olton, where the holders Lincoln, members of the Suburban Division, triumphed 3-1. Coleshill were clearly the better side in the opening half and took the lead through centre-forward Gordon Moseley, after 20 minutes. Lincoln were provided with a great chance to clinch the equaliser eight minutes later, when awarded a penalty, but Gary Cooper brought off a splendid save. The Town, playing the better football, were still very much on top and another goal came from Moseley, but unluckily it was disallowed. Lincoln began the second half with several lightning raids on the Town goal and in the space of two minutes had taken a 2-1 lead – Moore and Pugh being the marksmen. Coleshill made strenuous efforts to pull the game round and it was while piling all their resources into the Lincoln goal area that the Lincoln attack put the issue safe with a breakaway goal from Abrams. Coleshill’s star was their “new” signing, Tony Sheddon, who gave an excellent display at left half, Lake and Brewer shining for Lincoln.

Saturday 4th April 1914
Birmingham Youth & Old Boys League Suburban Division
Coleshill Town1 v 3 Kings Heath Melrose
Coleshill Chronicle Wrote:
These teams met at Coleshill last Saturday. Coleshill were not fully represented and the game ended in a win for the visitors by 3 goals to 1. Owing to the appointed referee not putting in an appearance, it was decided to toss for choice of Referee and the visitors winning gave them the advantage of one of their supporters using the whistle. Coleshill supporters were far from satisfied with many of the referee’s decisions and particularly when he gave a penalty after what they considered accidental handling.
