1913/14
Saturday 25th April 1914
Evelyn Cecil Shield Final
Coleshill Town 1 v 1 Handsworth Amateurs
Scorer: Bullock.

Coleshill Chronicle Wrote:
This match was played at Coleshill, on Saturday last, before a good gate. The visitors had rather the best of the opening exchanges and an excellent shot from one of their forwards only just missed the mark. Coleshill then pressed and twice forced corner kicks from which the Handsworth goal narrowly escaped. A free kick to the Amateurs just outside the penalty area looked dangerous for Coleshill but the ball was cleared. Coleshill took the lead with a fine shot by Bullock, and at the interval Coleshill led by 1-0.
On resuming play was very fast and both teams missed good chances of scoring. Coleshill held their own well and looked like running out winners until six minutes from the finish when a penalty was given against Nichols. It was hard lines for Nichols who had played one of his best games in defence. When the whistle blew the score was 1-1.

No replay, extra time or penalties! The match was drawn and the Trophy shared between the two teams!

No other games were announced during my research or league tables so the final tally for the season is:

P12 W6 D2 L4 F37 A21 Points 14
