WE MEET AGAIN – TIPTON TOWN


Tipton Town are yet again another side we have only ever come across since promotion to the Midland Alliance.

Tipton were formed in 1948 under the name of Ocker Hill United and played in the Wolverhampton and District Amateur league. They joined the West Midlands Regional League in 1965 and promotion to the Premier League came in 1985 when a certain Steve Bull played. Tipton won this league in 2004/05 to gain promotion to the Midland Alliance. Tipton have consistently finished in the top half if not the top six since promotion.

This season Tipton lie in 11th place with 17 wins from their 40 games so far. Due to postponements we only played Tipton at their place a few weeks ago and neither side deserved to win in boring 0-0 draw!

Coleshill's record against Tipton is nothing short of woefull! In the eleven meetings since the two sides came together in the Midland Alliance, Coleshill haven't won a single game against the "Black Country" team. Nine defeats and two draws is dreadful and on top of that Coleshill have failed to score in seven of those games! But the two draws have come in the last two games, so there is hope!!!!
