COLESHILL Town will kick off their Midland Football League Premier campaign with a home clash against Continental Star on August 2.

In a busy start, Paul Casey's men also entertain Long Eaton United on Tuesday, August 5.

"I didn't expect two home games to start with but I am happy with that," said Casey.

"It's a tough start though. Continental are a young and energetic side so the one time you don't want to play them is the start of August.

"We played Long Eaton in the FA Vase last season and they have a good side.

"So it's a tricky opening but we are looking to get off to a positive start and hopefully we will be able to get some points on the board early on and build from there."

Meanwhile, Coleshill Town continued their pre-season with an emphatic 8-0 win over Racing Club Warwick.

Shane Benjamin scored a hat-trick and Matty Gasper added two. Luke Edwards, Barry Fitzharris and Ryan Nash were also on target.

The result delighted boss Casey who added: "Warwick had a young side, who passed the ball well but we were just really clinical.

"We have played a couple of games now and it's been about the lads getting to know each other.

"They are at different levels of fitness but that will all come with the more pre-season games we play. I am happy with how things are going so far."

And the efforts of striker Benjamin have also delighted Casey, who said: "He's got six in three games already and looks a handful.

"He looks very fit, the best shape I have seen him in for a long time.

"He's a top player. He holds the ball up very well, scores goals and is a great lad to boot. "I am sure he will do well for us this season."
