Secretary Bernard Knight awaits the result of a mid week practice match before pencilling in his final selection but hopes to have on his retained list Goalkeeper Gary Cooper, full backs Roger Dainty and Jimmy Hellis together with ex Moor Green centre half Tony Pugh. There are still one or two blank spots says Bernard but reports that he, along with Chairman Dick Miller and new committee man, ex player Ron Houghton, are looking forward to a very successful season.

The Coleshill Charity Cup committee met at the Coleshill Ex Serviceman's Club. Chairman is now Vic Corner and secretary/treasurer Sidney Boucher with the President being Reverend F. Morgan. Interest is waning so the radius that teams are allowed to enter has been widened from 12 miles to 20.

The Week's Movements
Not Yet In The Firing Line

At the time of writing the two enormous armies are facing each other and a succession of battles is being fought. The great conflict is started, fighting is going on along the whole front. The Germans forward movement is begun in earnest. East of the line Antwerp, Brussels, Namur, numerous places seem now held by German troops in some force. British forces have been safely landed on French soil but it is officially denied that they are yet in the firing line.

THIS WEEK will also be in every home game programme.
