WE MEET AGAIN – Brocton

Although founded in 1937, Brocton had played in Staffordshire leagues and so had never came up against Coleshill until they were promoted to the Midland Combination Premier for the 2003/04 season. In that time Brocton have played at three different grounds. First Cannock Sports Stadium, then they shared at Heath Hayes, and then, with the aid of a grant, they took on the old Staffordshire Police ground at Silkmore Lane, Stafford. Coleshill definitely have the better record having done the “double” over Brocton three times. This season Coleshill recorded their best win against Brocton with an 8-2 result. This is of course Brocton’s first season at this level and they currently lie in 17th place with six wins from their 23 games so far!
