WE MEET AGAIN – AFC Wulfrunians

AFC Wulfrunians were established in 2005, although it is an offshoot of the Old Wulfrunians club, which has existed since 1922. Coleshill had never met either the current or old club until last season (as far as I am aware) due to the Wulfs promotion from the West Midlands Premier to the Alliance. Town’s two visits to the impressive Castlecroft Stadium ended in a fine 2-1 win and a disappointing 2-1 loss! Honours even there! But Wulfs only visit to Pack Meadow ended with a thumping 5-1 win! Need to put that record straight!
This season Wulfs currently lie in 9th place with 15 wins from their 31 games so far!

MATCH REPORT
Coleshill started well, a home team official was heard to say that Town were the best team they had played this season, and despite going a goal down on nine minutes, they dominated the opening 30 minutes and deservedly equalised through Chris Lloyd on 17 minutes. But from then on Wulfrunians started to take control with some impressive football. The hosts should have took the lead early in the second half but Andy Thompson headed wide when unchallenged at the far post. Coleshill just couldn't get going and Wufrunians finally got a deserved winner on 77 minutes. Danny Douglas was caught in possession and Mitch McDonald scampered to the bye line, his pin-point cross found the head of Craig Gregg who finished well at the near post. Coleshill's best chances of getting at least a point fell to Craig Milligan but both his efforts went over the bar and then a Jake Sedgemore free kick could have put the home team further ahead but his effort shaved the post.
