Haywood is hoping Coleshill can pull off another cup win

COLESHILL Town assistant manager Dave Haywood says his side are relishing the chance to try to progress further in this season's FA Cup.

Coleshill have been awarded a home tie against Newcastle Town following their heroic display against Stafford Rangers in the last round and the two sides will do battle at The Lamb on Saturday (kick-off 3pm).

Haywood can't wait and said: "Confidence in the dressing room cannot be any higher.

"Newcastle are in the same league as Stafford so we definitely have nothing to fear. We aren't expected to win the game so there is no pressure on us at all.

"The lads need to just go out, enjoy themselves and play their football."

If the result should go in favour of the Colemen, the prize money would be highly beneficial to the club with first round qualifying winners receiving a £3,000 cash-boost for their efforts.

"The financial side of it is massive for a club like Coleshill," said Haywood. "Plus, the exposure that the lads can expect with a good performance is also a massive incentive.

"In the round prior to Stafford, for example, we had a huge 11-0 win over Ellesmere which caught the attention of other teams in the competition.

"Luke Barlone got a lot of press coverage after his four goals in that game too and it was fully deserved after an incredible performance."

Haywood is now hoping the side can build on the fine win against Stafford and believes playing at Tamworth FC's ground can give the squad a further lift.

"The lads were fantastic against Stafford in the last round," Haywood said. "It was a tough match but we showed that we can grind out results in tough circumstances. We will be looking to build on that and playing at The Lamb gives us another huge lift and allows us to play our football.

"You only have to mention the FA Cup and, whether you are a player, manager or staff member, it gives you a buzz.

"I personally cannot wait for Saturday. I am hoping for a Coleshill win and a nice draw in the next round!"
