WE MEET AGAIN - Rocester

Rocester are a club with a long and rich history. The first recorded reference to football in Rocester was on Saturday 16th 1876 meaning they supercede Coleshill, who claim to be one of the oldest clubs in the country, by 18 years.

The Romans were founder members of the Midland Alliance and have twice won the league to gain promotion to the Southern League and the Northern Premier respectively. They were relagated back to the Alliance for the 2005/06 season and since then they have finished bottom, 12th, 5th, 20th and last season 15th.

This season The Romans have lost to Oadby, Tipton, Causeway and Westfields, drew with Ellesmere and Kirby and have beaten Heath Hayes, Alvechurch and just this week overcame Willenhall 5-0, and after a slow start they have won three of the last four games which leaves them with a record so far of:

P9 W3 D2 L4 F16 A15 and currently lie in 13th place in the league.

In cup competitions they lost to Loughborough University in the Vase and went out of the FA Cup to Pilkington, the same team that sent Coleshill out of the FA Vase.

They have their own hat trick hero with Luke Chapman already hitting three in a game twice, and eight goals so far this season.

They are sponsored by and closely associated with the JCB factory that dominates the town of Rocester.

Rocester and Coleshill had never met before coming together in the Alliance two seasons ago and the four meetings since have resulted in the following:
