Ansells 3 v 2 Coleshill Town

SUNDAY MERCURY WROTE
ANSELLS' DARREN'S A DAZZLER
Darren Brown was the toast of Ansells after his winning effort in the dying seconds of a five goal thriller left Coleshill Town feeling bitter. Coleshill looked as though they would be raising their glasses to all the points when Jimmy Stafford put them ahead with a penalty, but although Jon Johnson was also on the mark for Town, Eddie Healey scored twice to bring Ansells level and then Brown stepped up with his dramatic clincher.

Half Time Report: Coleshill were 1-0 down at half time. (impossible to read)
Half Time 1-0.
Team: Chapman, Bishop, Jordan, Cooke, Edmunds, Moore B, Williams, Taylor, George, Paul, Howkins. Sub Moore I.

SUNDAY MERCURY WROTE
New World took the lead 7mins before the break when Leek picked his spot when the ball ran to his feet. The second half was only 9mins old when Paul bundled the ball in for the equaliser and after that it was one way traffic towards the New World goal. Midway through the half sub Ian Moore fired Coleshill into the lead with a well taken goal. Paul sealed the victory 6mins from the end when a centre to the far post was headed back across goal and Paul planted his effort wide of Jenkins.

There must have been some bad weather about as Coleshill didn't play again until 1st March at Home to Solihull Borough in the league.

SPORTS ARGUS WROTE
Ward End Unity, another team on the upgrade, thrashed Coleshill Town 6-2. The Sanders brothers Gil and Ron, both netted two goals.

League Record So Far

Results are vague with very little info from Chronicle or Argus.

Next week Coleshill play the British Legion again in the replay of the Aston Villa Shield tie.

COLESHILL CHRONICLE WROTE
Coleshill Town had hard work to dispose of Stoneware. The latter proved to be a harder nut than first anticipated. In the first half both sides missed chances but after the interval Coleshill snapped up what chances there were and secured a narrow victory by 3 goals to 2.
