Saturday 1st March 1986
Skol Midland Combination Premier
Coleshill Town 0 v 1 Solihull Borough

Solihull Borough moved into second place in the table thanks to a one goal victory against an improving Coleshill side. As early as the 9th min Gibson scored the match winning goal for the visitors when following a right wing corner by Jennings, he took advantage of a deflection to score with alow shot from 8yards. Coleshill's Taylor was unfortunate to see a fine shot rebound off the foot of the post and after 26mins Taylor was again thwarted when his shot was hacked off the line by Tomlinson.

Solihull Borough manager Ron Corbett watched his team sneak the points against mid-table Coleshill and then tipped Paget Rangers as title favourites. "They must be the hot favourites at the moment, the position they are in and with two games in hand. But it's a long way to go yet and we still have to play them later this month." He said. Borough blew away the cob-webs after their enforced lay off and came up with just enough polish to see off the challenge of Coleshill and keep alive their championship hopes. The win keeps them in second place, a point behind West Midlands Police but a game in hand. Paget are third a point behind Borough but with two games in hand on them. It took a strike from Carl Gibson early in the game to secure the points for Borough but after that they were second fiddle as Coleshill called the tune for much of the game. Winds that were virtually gale force made it virtually impossible for Borough to get their usual fluent brand of football into action. "If I were the Coleshill manager, I think I would have been a little disappointed not to have got a draw from that match." Corbett said, "But I'm pleased that we were able to pick up two points when we weren't at our best."

Saturday 4th March 1961
Birmingham Youth & Old Boys Mercian League
Coloeshill Hall 2 v 2 Coleshill Town

Scorer: Mullard 2.

A draw was a fair result of a good, hard fought and sporting "local derby" game. The Hall were on top in the first half and should have been more than 2-1 up at half time. The Hall went ahead through J. Brazier following a defensive error. Soon after the Town equalised - the ball was deflected into the net after hitting one of the Hall's defenders. The Hall got a second goal from F.Braid following a perfect centre from Dicken. The Town fought back in the second half and fully deserved their equaliser. Both sides missed a number of chances. Mullard was responsible for both Town goals.
