Saturday 18th October 2008
Midland Football Alliance
Cradley Town 1 v 1 Coleshill Town
Scorers:
Cradley: Joshua O'Garro.
Colemen: Anthony Hall.

Team: Chris Butler, Josh McPherson, Lee Hunt, Neil Kitching, Andy Sutherland, Stuart Hendrie (Stuart Adamson), Carl Adams (Ant Hall), Lee Bloxham, Michael Campbell, Matty Robinson, Steve Ruck (Ben Porter)

Coleshill had to rely on an Ant Hall header from a corner in the dying minutes to rescue a point, but this definately felt like two points dropped as Coleshill had chance after chance and Cradley scored with their only shot on target in the second half.

Manager Carl Adams sprung a few surprises with his line up with Chris Butler taking over between the sticks from Craig Johnson, Steve Ruck made his debut after transferring from Studley, but the biggest surprise was the manager himself playing the first 45 minutes.

The first half was fairly even but the best chance of the half fell to new signing Steve Ruck who put the ball over the bar from less than 12 yards out. Neil Kitching twice got in important headers to clear danger before Matty Robinson blocked a clearance and immediatley sent a dipping shot goalward only for the home keeper to tip over the bar, and then the busier of the two stoppers pushed a Michael Campbell shot round the post before watching a Robinson left foot shot go just wide. As the half drew to a close Cradley started to apply some pressure themselves. Kitching cleared again and Chris Butler had to save at the foot of the post and then saw a Azariah O'Garro shot go just over the bar.

Capbell shot wide when well placed early in the second half but Liam McDonald repleid with a free kick that went over the bar and Thomas Warmer sent a cross along the 6 yard line but there was no-one there to get the final touch. Campbell, who could have ended the afternoon with a hat-trick had a header cleared off the line and a good shout for hand ball. Campbell next effort went even closer as he hit the post with the keeper stranded. Cradley substitute Adam Meacham found time and space but sent his shot well wide and high and Joseph Cole hit the side netting but on 72 minutes Cradley finally broke the deadlock with a speculative hit from fully 35 yards from Joshua O'Garro that found it's way into the net despite Butlers full length dive. Ben Porter, Stuart Hendrie the Matty Robinson all had shots from good positions that failed to test the keeper as it looked as though it was not to be Coleshill's day. With time running out Coleshill finally got the reward that their play deserved as Ant Hall powerfully headed home a Stuart Adamson corner and it could have got better as Coleshill nearly snatched all three points with Cradley desperatley clearing off the line twice and Campbell firing into the keepers body with the goal at his mercy.

SUNDAY MERCURY WROTE
Coleshill Town scored an 87th minute equakiser through substitute Anthony Hall at Cradley Town. And they almost stloe the points with Stuart Adamson having a shot blocked on the line while Michael Campbell struck the woodwork.

COLESHILL GAZETTE WROTE
Coleshill had chance after chance but couldn't score. Cradley took the lead with their only attempt on goal in the second half and Coleshill had to rely on an Anthony Hall header from a corner with two minutes remaining to gain a point.

COLESHILL HERALD WROTE
Hall to the rescue as Coleshill bag point
Coleshill rescued a point thanks to a header from Ant Hall in the dying minutes of this clash. However, it still felt like two points dropped, as opposed to a point gained as Coleshill had chance after chance and Crdaly scored with their only shot on target in the second half. The first half was fairly even but the best chance of the half fell to new signing Steve Ruck, who put the ball over the bar from less than 12 yards out. Neil Kitching twice got in important headers to clear danger before Matty Robinson blocked a clearance and immediatley sent a dipping shot goalward only for the home keeper to tip over the bar. Michael Campbell saw a shot pushed around the post while Robinson's left foot shot went just wide. As the half drew to a close, Cradley started to apply some pressure themselves. Coleshill keeper Chris Butler had to save at the foot of the post while Azariah O'Garro fired over. Coleshill's Campbell shot wide when well placed early in the second half but Liam McDonald replied for the visitors with a free kick that went over the bar. Campbell, who could have ended up with a hat-trick, had a header cleared off the line and then hit the post. On 72 minutes, Cradley finally broke the deadlock with a speculative hit from fully 35 yards from Joshua O'Garro. Ben Porter, Stuart Hendrie and Robinson all had shots for Coleshill but with time running out, they finally got the reward as Hall powerfully headed home a Stuart Adamson corner. The visitors nearly snatched all three points with Cradley desperatley clearing off the line twice and Campbell firing into the keeper's body with the goal at his mercy.
