Wednesday 25th February 2009
Midland Football Alliance
Tipton Town 3 v 0 Coleshill Town

Coleshill had to make a couple of changes for the trip to Tipton with Ben Porter and Dave Davies carrying niggling injuries, Damien Charie, Lee Bloxham and Jamie Silver all missing due to work committments. On the plus side Keenan Richards, a capture from Bromsgrove Rovers, made his debut.

Neil Kitching and Martin Sockett decided to go with a 4-5-1 formation due to the lack of attacking optons but this was a big mistake as they handed the initiative to the home side from the off and although they did change things round, Coleshill never really recovered.

Tipton were sharper, quicker and more determined throughout in a game that should be forgotten and move quickly on to the visit of Stratford on saturday.
Coleshill were lucky to go into the break at 0-0. Christopher Morris and Nathan Jones had both missed good oportunities and although Craig Johnson hardly had a save to make, it was all one way traffic. Coleshill's only opening was when Simon Volante played a ball into the box and Keenan Richards pulled back for the onrushing James Dance who hit a powerfull shot over the bar.

A slight improvement at the start of the second half meant Coleshill were looking at a goaless draw or even snatch a winner and they should have took the lead from a Lee Darlison corner that clearly crossed the line but wasn't given. Tipton did eventually take a deserved lead but from a passage of play that looked to be going nowhere Daniel Bragoli hit a speculitive shot that swerved and dipped over the despairing dive of Johnson. Richard Munday had a header from a corner cleared off the line and Tom Brady and Gordon Simms found themselves in the book by a picky ref who was being assessed. The game was over as a contest on 82 mins when Tipton took a free kick quickly, Morris and Jones combined to leave the later with an easy side foot for 2-0. And three minutes later Tipton broke from a Coleshill attack, substitute Nicholas Campbell slipped the off side trap and was away. Johnson did really well to block Campbell's first attempt but the striker still managed to find the net despite a very narrow angle and a defender on the line.

All in all, a lacklustre performance similar to Alvechurch and Oadby but a million miles away from Shifnal and Cradley. Which team will turn up to play Stratford, who knows!

Team:- Craig Johnson, Tom Brady, Richard Munday, Gordon Simms, Lee Darlison, James Dance, Simon Volante, Jae Martin, Keenan Richards, Stuart Hendrie (Neil Kitching), Matty Robinson. Subs not used Ben Porter, Lee Hunt, Steve Plamer, Rob Evans.
