Coleshill Town 0 v 3 Highgate United
Report by Paula Scott

Coleshill went into the game with high hopes after signing three new players during the weekend, Courtney Shaw, Richard Munday and Liam Doyle all making their debuts for Coleshill.

The match began with some early chances from Rob Freeman and Ben Porter after great quick feet play from Jason Lanns which put Coleshill in an attacking position on more than one occasion, unfortunately the shots were just wide of the post.

Highgate were playing the over the top ball to the strikers which eventually beat our defence, the striker then used his pace to slot the ball past Jamie Atkins for a 0-1 lead.

Coleshill then tried to quicken the pace of the game producing a great save from the Highgate keeper after a great attempt on goal from Courtney Shaw.

Coleshill continued with the pressure until half time but could not find that equaliser.

The second half saw two changes at half time with Lee Millard being replaced by Tez Carpenter and Adam Kinder replaced by Lee Bloxham.

Coleshill pushed hard for a goal with shot after shot on the keeper but they could not find the breakthrough they were looking for.

Highagte gained a corner and a scramble on the goal line resulted with the ball being ruled to have crossed the line by the assistant ref to give Highgate their second goal.

Coleshill tried to fight back but to no avail introducing Steffano Aronandi into the play for Liam Doyle. Steffano had a great shot on goal which the keeper just managed to tip over the cross bar.

It was just not Coleshill's night and in the 89th min Highgate slotted their 3rd goal of the evening to walk away with the points.

A dissappointed Carl Adams stated "We need to analysis what went wrong tonight, we have some great players in our squad with great ability. We need to work with them to ensure we gain the best from them every game."

Team: (Not Confirmed) Jamie Atkins, Stuart Hamilton, Richard Munday, Jason Lanns, Lee Millard, Liam Doyle (Steffano Aronandi), Rob Freeman, Ben Porter, Lee Bloxham (Adam Kinder), Jon Powis, Courtney Shaw.

Scorers: Highgate Anthony Hopkins 7, 65, Danny Kerrigan 90.
Attendance 81
