Coleshill started with a spring in their step after Tuesday night's defeat, the message from the management was take responsibility for your own game and work as a team.

Coleshill boys responded well and strated with some excellent possession play and created opportunities from the start. Studley goal keeper was in fine form and saved some excellent shots.

Carl Adams was very influentual in the middle of the park and commanded the players around him to deliver extra energy and desire.

Studley played many over the top balls which one resulted in a high bounce from the hard ground which the srtiker pushed past the Coleshill keeper.

Studley left the field at half time one goal ahead.

Coleshill started the second half in control of the game working hard to gain the equaliser and making sure Studley were chasing the ball.

After constant pressure a foul was made on Ben Porter from the Studley goal keeper's rash challenge. Carl Adams was determined to make the penalty count and ensure an equaliser. Carl shot hard and beat the keeper easy, nothing more than the Coleshill lads deserved.

The game continued with Coleshill still having all the play, with lots of shots pounding the goal however Coleshill could not beat the keeper.

Studley made a quick break in the dying minutes of the game and gave Coleshill great dissappointment as they had worked hard throughout the game and deserved at least a point, if not all three.

The management comment after the game was a much improved performance which will only insatll confidence in the players moving forward.

Scorers
Studley Joe Grandfield 16, Chris Gumery 84.
Coleshill Carl Adams 65 (pen)

Match Report from Studley

First goals for Grandfield and Gumery secure victory for the Bees.
12th Sep 09 - Studley 2 vs 1 Coleshill Town
Report by Bob Fletcher

First home victory this season as they beat Coleshill 2-1.

The game kicked off on a beatiful afternoon with the Manager making several changes in an effort to get some consistency.Coleshill were the first to threaten when Freeman just failed to get on the end of a Porter cross .Studley replied 2mins later when Atkins saved well from a Gumery shot.On 18 mins the Bees opened the scoring when from a Mitchel free kick Bailey collected the ball and squared to Grandfield who slotted the ball home from 10 yards. The game although interesting became a game of very few goal mouth chances with neither side able to grab control of the game. The half ended with good work from Gumery resulting in his cross being met by the head of Malins who headed over. The second half started with Coleshill looking the more determined and ex Bees player shot well over when well placed on 53 mins.Gumery then headed over a Nicol cross.Coleshill seemed to have the upper hand and were awarded a penalty on 66 mins when Harris was adjudged to have fouled,Adams duly scored from the spot for 1-1.On 75 mins good work between Bailey and Gumery resulted in a cross which just needed touching home but there was no one there. On 80 mins Harris who had been most impressive in the Bees goal made a great save from Carpenter to keep the scores level. Two minutes later Harris made a double save which looked impossible to make ,but make it he did.The Bees took full advantage of these saves and with the best move of the game between Haylor and Bailey resulted in Gumery opening his account for Studley when meeting Baileys cross at the near post and beating the Keeper. So instead of being 2-1 down The Bees were 2-1 up.Coleshill tried hard to get back on terms but ran out of time.
