FROM COLESHILL HERALD

Coleshill swoop for former Aston Villa striker
Thursday, January 28, 2010, 12:30

COLESHILL Town have completed the signing of former Aston Villa striker Neil Davis.
Davis, a prolific goalscorer in non-league, had been plying his trade with Southern Midlands One side Sutton Coldfield Town.
He is set to make his debut for the Colemen in their Midland Alliance home clash with Bridgnorth on Saturday.
His arrival is timed perfectly as Carl Adams' men face a massive week which also features a home League Cup quarter-final with Coalville on Tuesday night (kick off 7.45pm).
"It's great to have Neil on board," said Adams.
"We have known each other for a long time and played together at Hednesford.
"He is a quality player and to get him to drop down to this level is a real coup for us.
"He adds real competition for places up front which is what we want."
Adams admitted to being disappointed by results but not performances this week.
After the long lay off due to snow, Coleshill lost 2-1 at Highgate on Saturday and drew 0-0 at Causeway United on Tuesday night.
"I know people exaggerate in football but after a bad first half against Highgate, we controlled the second half," said Adams.
"If we had won 6-2 or 7-2, they couldn't have complained but it wasn't to be.
"We also played really well on Tuesday night and it's just frustrating to have picked up only one point from six. We deserved more.
"But we are playing well and we can go into the weekend with confidence.
"We don't fear anyone at all in this league," added Adams.
