Coleshill: Matty Robinson 18.

COLESHILL JUST CAN'T BEAT OADBY

Given the players missing from his squad, Manager Cral Adams would have settled for a draw before kick off, as in five meetings Coleshill have failed to beat Oadby, four draws and a defeat the grand total. But Coleshill looked comfortable after they took the lead with a Matty Robinson chip on 12mins and although Oadby had plenty of posession as Coleshill tired they rarely troubled Craig Johnson and even the equaliser was a scrappy affair.

Adams was without, Chris Gumery, Dean Baker, Jason Ramsey, Leyiso Recci and Jason Lanns due to either injury or suspention, so the former Kettering player had to put his boots on yet again to marshall Coleshill's defence.

Oadby, without a point so far this season, played some neat football but were toothless up front until they intoduced a sub, Reuben Joseph Wilson, on the hour mark that really put himself about and caused Coleshill problems. Robinson's 20yard chip over the keeper from a Danny Carter through ball was all that seperated the sides at the break but Robinson and Freeman could and should have increased the lead with the former hitting the side netting again from a Carter pass and the later heading a corner wide when unmarked. Oadby had half chances. 4 headed just over the bar and 10 had a great chance when allowed space after some haphazard defending but he sliced his shot well wide.

Oadby had the better of the second half, pinning Coleshill further and further back but on the break Coleshill should have made the game safe as Carter, Freeman and Robinson all had chances to extend the lead. Coleshill had a great shout for a penalty for hand ball but the referee waved away the protests and Oadby broke quickly and when 7 shot, Johnson did well to palm away for a corner. Oadby equalised from the corner on 68mins when Adams and Johnson got in each others way, the ball came to the far post where it appeared to come off someone's shin and trickle into the net, Joseph Wilson claiming the goal. Coleshill were visably tiring and introduced three substitutes who were all strangers to the Town's supporters! Although it would have been harsh, Oadby looked the more likely to take the three points but they could find no way past Johnson and Jon Powis could have nicked it at the end but put his shot into the side netting.

Team: Craig Johnson, Luke Edwards, Steve Hakner, Carl Adams, Rob Freeman, Ben Porter (Mark Lowe), Barry Fitzharris (Michael William), Jon Powis, Danny Carter (Richard Gregory), Matty Robinson, Liam Givans.

NB. Matty's goal in this game was his 100th for Coleshill. Coming in just 143 appearances, this is a remarkable record which is unlikely to be bettered in the forseeable future.
