CARTER HAT-TRICK INSPIRES COLESHILL

Danny Carter netted a hat trick for Midland Alliance side Coleshill Town as they caused an upset by beating Zamaretto Premier side Evesham United 3-1 at St George`s Lane.

Playing three up front in a 4-3-3 formation really upset Eversham and it took just five minutes for Danny to get his first goal in what would be a hat trick of goals.

Chris Gumery was playing the targetman in the middle of the three man attack. The midfield three worked real hard against the Eversham four doing a real good job of supporting both in attack and defence.

Coleshill's back four, marshelled by Jason Lanns and Leyiso Recci, kept Eversham's attack at bay until the last few minutes of the game when a tired spell after all of Coleshill's hard work let Eversham have a goal.

All in all "What a game!"

Team: Chris Jay, Leyiso Recci, Steve Hakner, Jason Lanns (Neil Kitching), Luke Edwards, Jon Powis, Ben Porter, Liam Givans, Danny Carter (Richard Gregory), Chris Gumery, Andy Cameron.
Report by Stephen Cave.

Coleshill now go into the hat for the Second Qualiying Round draw (Monday 13th Sept) where clubs from the Conference North and South (Non-League Level 2) join the competition. Games are due to be played on Saturday 25th September with a prize of £4500 awaiting the winners. Coleshill have already pocketed £5250 from their three wins so far in the E.On F.A. Cup.

COLESHILL HERALD WROTE

Goal Machine Carter on Fire After A Fine Double Hat-trick
Coleshill's Danny Carter grabbed the headlines with a well taken hat-trick to dump Southern Premier side Evesham out of the FA Cup. The Greens frontman gave the Midland Alliance side the perfect start, slotting in after just five minutes to stun the home side. He doubled the visitors lead 10 minutes before the break, racing through to cooly fire past keeper Nathan Vaughan. Carter completed his hat-trick eight minutes after the re-start, latching onto a clearance before netting with an exquisite finish over Vaughan to leave Evesham down and out. Carter was denied a fourth when Anthony Watson cleared off the line. Coleshill's back four, marshalled by Jason Lanns and Leyiso Recci, kept Evesham's attack at bay until the last few minutes. Evesham substitute Roland Agbor did pull one back six minutes from time and the home side hit the post late on through David Accam, but it was too little too late as Coleshill deservadley held on to book their place in the next round. Coleshill have been handed a home draw in the second qualifying round of the cup. They will entertain Lincoln United on September 25, kick off 3pm.

SUNDAY MERCURY WROTE

Danny Carter stunned Evesham with a well-taken hat-trick as Coleshill produced an FA Cup upset at St George's Lane. Town's place in the next round was as good as sealed by the 53rd minute when Carter's lob completed his treble and gave Coleshill a three goal cushion. Carter took just five minutes to find the net with a shot into the bottom corner and it was 2-0 to Carl Adams' Midland Alliance side ten minutes before half time when Carter again hit the target. Zamaretto Premier side United had just two half chances to show for a woeful display with Danny Lennon and Fazal Koriya spurning a couple of chances. Carter was denied a fourth when Anthony Watson cleared off the line before Roly Agbor netted an 84th minute consolation for the well beaten home side. Evesham did hit the post late on through David Accam but it was an afternoon when the visitors, two divisions below "The Robins" were worthy winners.

THE NON - LEAGUE PAPER WROTE

Danny Delivers To Down Evesham
Coleshill's Danny Carter grabbed the headlines with a well taken hat trick to dump higher graded Evesham out. The Greens' frontman gave the Midland Football Alliance side the perfect start, slotting in after just five minutes to stun the home side. He doubled the visitors' lead ten minutes before the break, racing through to cooly fire past keeper Nathan Vaughan. Carter then completed his hat trick eight minutes after the re-start, latching onto a clearance before netting with an exquisite finish over Vaughan to leave Evesham down and out. Substitute Roland Agbor pulled one back six minutes from time, but it was too little too late as Coleshill deservedly held on to book their place in the next round.

TOWN AT HOME TO LINCOLN UNITED IN NEXT ROUND

N.B. Could Danny Carter be the highest goalscorer in this years' F.A. Cup! Danny has scored six already, one in the Extra Pre Lim, two in the Pre Lim and three in the 1st Qual Round. Could it be four in the 2nd Qual?

N.B. This is the furthest Coleshill have progressed in the national competition. They have reached the Pre Lim round three times before, 1984/85, 2008/09 and 2009/10 but the Second Qualifying Round is new territory.
