THE DANNY CARTER SHOW, EPISODE THREE

Yet another couple of goals from an in-form Danny Carter helped Coleshill Town to their fourth consecutive win in all competitions. Richard Gregory also netted late on to seal a game which threatened to be marred by a dreadful injury innocuously inflicted on Town midfielder Ben Porter, who dislocated his collarbone after falling awkwardly from an aerial clash with Christian Dacres.
Up until that point, the visitors were dominant, playing some very reasonable football and oozing confidence from recent weeks. It took no longer than the tenth minute for Matt Cottrell’s guard to be passed, as the goalkeeper inexplicably dropped a looping Danny Carter effort into the net when it looked for the entire world that the save had been made. Carter didn’t care about that though, as he wheeled away in celebration after grabbing his seventh goal in just three matches.
Sensing that their adversaries were on the ropes, Coleshill maintained their tempo, with both Chris Gumery and Neil Kitching seeing shots travel just over the crossbar. Rocester weren’t without chances of their own though, as Craig Hulme fired a shot marginally too high from a corner kick. The injury to talisman Ben Porter may have threatened to stem the flow of a lesser team, but Coleshill were determined to carry on in the same vain, with that attitude bearing fruit, as you know who found the net yet again to send his side 2-0 ahead. Danny Carter can do no wrong at the minute, and even when he headed against the upright from a cross, he was first to react to send the ball home on the second attempt.
A third hat trick in three games wasn’t forthcoming for Carter though, as chances either side of the break fell just short. First, substitute goalkeeper Richard Froggatt was equal to a rather tame effort from Gumery’s pull back, before an intelligent run into the box resulted in the ball finding only the side netting. As Rocester energy levels decreased, Coleshill kept on knocking, and should have made it three goals when Richard Gregory’s shot was tipped behind by Froggatt.
Jack Langston shot over Chris Jay’s crossbar in a rare opportunity for Rocester, before Gumery had the ball in the net, though the frontman was adjudged to be offside. Tempers flared towards the end of the game, with a host of bookings and a situation which the referee did well to control. As the game became more fragmented, Rocester managed to get a few shots away, but none of them troubled Chris Jay. The game was wrapped up ten minutes before time by Gregory, who marched through a somewhat weak defence, his cool finished slotted beyond Froggatt to put the game beyond doubt. It was very much a case of just reward for the visitors who dominated the game, playing a lifeless Rocester off the park at times.

Team: Chris Jay, Leyiso Recci, Luke Edwards, Neil Kitching (Jason Lanns), Steve Hakner, Jon Powis, Andy Cameron, Liam Givans, Ben Porter (Richard Gregory), Danny Carter (Dean Dineen), Chris Gumery.

SUNDAY MERCURY WROTE
Coleshill Town continued their impressive start to the campaign with a 3-0 victory at Rocester. And it was the impressive Danny Carter who stole the show with a first half double. Coleshill's leading scorer, whose hat trick saw off Evesham United in the shock result of the FA Cup, found the net on 11 minutes and then doubled his side's lead 10 minutes before the break. Richard Gregory made sure of the points when he added a third on 79 minutes.

NON-LEAGUE PAPER WROTE
Coleshill Town were also in impressive away form, easing to a 3-0 win at Rocester. Danny Carter, about to go on trial to League Two side Burton Albion, scored twice in the first half, with Richard Gregory making sure of victory 11 minutes from time.
