Report from Westfields
WESTFIELDS THROW AWAY LEAD

Westfields were guilty of throwing away a 2-0 lead in their MFA League match with visiting Coleshill Town on Tuesday night at allpay.park when the visiting team hit back in the second half to draw level and but for the agility of Jamie Moore in the Westfields’ goal Westfields may have been beaten.

Westfields opened up well in the opening 45 minutes and Jamie Addis laid on a chance for Jamie Cuss to open the scoring, then Craig Jones laid on a fine through ball to Richard Kear and he raced away to hammer home a great goal from 18 yards to give Westfields a fine 2-0 interval lead.

After the break, Westfields were guilty of some poor defending and Dan Carter pounced to prod home from close range, then Carter was again in the right place to lob the ball over Jamie Moore to put the sides level in the 60th minute.

Jamie Moore then made 2 brilliant saves to deny Coleshill the lead as Westfields struggled to contain the visitors’ attack who looked more likely to grab the winner as Westfields struggled to find their rhythm and were pleased to settle for a point from a 2-2 draw.
