Loughborough University 2 v 0 Coleshill Town

Postby Alan Beckett » Sun Jan 09, 2011 12:33 pm

Saturday 8th January 2011
Baker Joiner Midland Alliance
Loughborough University 2 v 0 Coleshill Town
Scorer: Raul Alexis 54, 59.
Attendance: 42.

This was a poor game for the away side with Loughborough controlling most of the game although the second goal had a suspicion of off side. Coleshill however, on the whole, did defend well.
On the down side there seems to be too much in house fighting going on between the Coleshill players. On several occasions the referee had words about the use of bad language.

Town Are Handed A Lesson By Students

Two goals from Raul Alexis condemned Coleshill to defeat at the hands of third-placed Loughborough University on Saturday.

Alexis struck in both the 54th and 59th minutes after Loughborough had controlled most of the game.

Coleshill boss Carl Adams - whose side had enjoyed a 1-0 win over high-flying Boldmere St Michaels the week before - admitted: "They deserved to win the game. It wasn't a bad display from us, although not as good as we have produced in the last few weeks. It was a hard-fought clash and one which offered few clear cut chances. We felt their second had a definite hint of offside about it and, at 2-0 down, I still felt that we were in the game. But, on the whole, I think Loughborough deserved the win. We can still take plenty of positives from the game. We have played all the top sides now and have picked up some good results against them. Now we need to start picking up wins against the sides around us or below us in the table."

Team: Craig Johnson, Jon Powis (Jason Ramsey), Dan Dineen, Jason Lanns, Leyiso Recci, Andy Cameron, Levi Bailey, Richard Allen, Chris Gumery (Luke Edwards), Ashley Robinson, Tom Wilmore. Sub not used Ben Porter.

A Raul Alexis double handed Loughborough University a 2-0 victory over Coleshill Town.
